Can Missing Teeth Be Replaced with Dental Bridges?

  • Dr. Jennifer Nation
  • Crowns & Bridges
Dental Bridges Procedure in Redlands California Area

Yes, missing teeth can be replaced with a dental bridge. The only limitation of dental bridges is that they can only restore one to four teeth. If you need more than four teeth replaced, the best options include dental implants or partial dentures.

When they need a dental bridge procedure, Redlands, California residents depend on the caring professionalism of Dr. Jennifer Nation and the team at Brookside Smiles Family and Cosmetic Dentistry.

What are Dental Bridges?

A dental bridge connects one or more artificial teeth to an adjacent, existing tooth to replace missing teeth. In some cases, dental bridges can be connected to an implant. Most bridges replace one or two missing teeth depending on certain factors–existing teeth that are in good condition, for example–Dr. Nation may be able to replace more than four missing teeth with a dental bridge.

Dental Bridges Procedure in Redlands, California

Dental bridges are custom-made to comfortably and securely fit the area in your mouth where teeth are missing. Dr. Nation takes digital images of the space and the existing teeth surrounding the gap. These digital “impressions are then sent to a laboratory where technicians craft the customized dental bridge. The material used to make the bridge and artificial teeth can be shaded to seamlessly match the shade of your teeth and gums.

A custom-made dental bridge may take a week or more to complete. Fixing the dental bridge is done in one office visit. Once your dental bridge is affixed, you will be able to eat, speak, and smile normally.

Some people prefer a removable dental bridge. This type of bridge is not bonded to existing teeth and can be removed at any time. Removable dental bridges use wires to affix the bridge to existing teeth.
